Pete Hegseth and Trump’s Militarization of America
Donald Trump is reshaping the U.S. military into a political weapon. And at his side, as Secretary of Defense (we’re not calling it the Department of War), sits Pete Hegseth — a booze-loving television personality with no serious record of leadership who now has one of the most powerful jobs in the country.
And he’s using that power to politicize our military, act as an attack dog for the president, and now call our military leaders from service postings all across the world back to Washington D.C. for a rah-rah political speech.
Hegseth’s boorishness and obsession with being seen as a tough guy are always on display, but this meeting of our generals could also serve a darker purpose — to demand loyalty and fealty not to the United States, the Constitution, or the American People, but to Donald Trump himself.
Under Trump and Hegseth, troops have been deployed into American cities, ICE raids have been militarized, and the machinery of federal power is being pointed inward at our own communities. The Pentagon is no longer just defending the nation from external threats; it’s being used to intimidate, silence, and control the American people.
That’s why the Save America Movement created our new ad to remind our leaders of who the man is that is about to speak to them.
For too long, Americans have been told to see this as politics as usual — one party versus another. It’s not. And the Secretary of Defense is not SUPPOSED to be a political tool. Now, this is about whether our constitutional democracy survives.
The Democratic leadership in Washington may be too timid (or too busy with a shutdown negotiation) to confront Trump’s authoritarian agenda, but the Save America Movement will not be. We are building a new kind of opposition: rapid-response, moral, non-violent, and unapologetically focused on telling the truth.
Our Liberty Vans in Los Angeles are documenting ICE raids in real time. Our truck campaigns have taken our message straight to Trump’s door in Washington, D.C., and Chicago. And now, with ads like this one, we are letting those who desire to politicize our military know that we are watching.
We will be watching all those who put Donald Trump above the nation and above their oath. We will not cower from calling them out. And we will require accountability for the unconstitutional and un-American terror they bring to the citizens of our country.
We, the people, want to remind all personnel in the military that their oath is to the United States of America and the rule of law!
Our Constitution’s Preamble states that in order to form a more perfect union we must, among other things, provide for the common defense. The founders of this great, imperfect nation were not warmongers, quite the opposite.
The trump regime, and the architects who created this monsterous moment, are attempting to turn everything on its head. “Attempting” being the operative word.
They, and their lawless overreach will fail as the country fully wakes to their idiotic, dangerous, unAmerican madness.
