They Blinked
This is why we must oppose fascism until we’ve won
For the first time since the occupation of Minneapolis began, the cracks in the regime are showing.
Last night, Axios reported that Donald Trump is demoting Sector Chief Gregory Bovino and removing him from command in Minneapolis.
Bovino was in command during the ICE surges in Los Angeles, Chicago, Charlotte, New Orleans, and now Minneapolis. He has played a major role in turning an American city into a war zone. He ordered chemical munitions to be fired on peaceful protestors. He stood before the cameras, defended the ICE agent who murdered Alex Pretti, and had the audacity to justify the execution of a citizen.
He thought he was untouchable. He thought that with the President’s blessing, he could brutalize a community into submission without fear of consequence.
He was wrong.
Bovino is being moved not because Donald Trump suddenly developed a conscience. We all know THAT isn’t happening. He is being moved because you made him a liability.
The resistance in the streets, footage captured by Operation Liberty and by everyday citizens, and the unrelenting pressure from the American people made it impossible for him to remain in command. The heat got too high, and the bully did what bullies always do when they get punched in the mouth: He retreated and blamed whoever isn’t named Trump.
Reports also indicate that Trump is furious with DHS Secretary Kristi Noem. He is lashing out at his own lieutenants and clapping monkeys because the “shock and awe” campaign he promised hasn’t worked. In fact, it backfired terribly.
He expected Minneapolis to roll over. Instead, Minneapolis stood up. This is the lesson we must never forget.
Authoritarians rely on the illusion of invincibility. It is never real. They want you to believe that resistance is futile, that their power is absolute, and that the only option is surrender.
Today proves that this is a lie meant to terrify and control us.
They are not invincible. They are terrified of public opinion. They are terrified of sustained, fearless opposition. When the American people refuse to back down—when we stay in the streets, when we keep the cameras rolling, and when we refuse to let them normalize their violence—we can break them.
Bovino is gone, but the fight is not over. The agents he commanded are still there. The policies and training that encouraged ICE agents to kill Alex Pretti and Renee Good are still in place.
We cannot let up now. We have to push harder. We have to fight them on every front—in the courts, in the media, in Congress, and on the streets—until they realize that the American people will never accept this and they will be ostracized in the annals of history.
They want us to go home. We’re not going anywhere until we’ve won.

Minnesota has the juice. Bless the courage and persistence of the people on the streets of Minneapolis.
SAM is a major pillar in the fight against this whacked combination of Christian nationalism and Authoritarianism. People unified and resolute shifted the balance of power in Minneapolis, not with guns, tear gas, threats or intimidation but with humanity, dignity, and a commitment to the truth. They modeled courage and compassion by standing up for each other and for what is right against people who cling to weapons and lies because they have nothing else. I stand with Minnesota and SAM!
